Non reserved train compartment..

My mom is not well. Earlier, she used to atleast talk on the phone, but now, even that, she has stopped. :( I got restless on last Saturday. Wanted to talk or see her. And only option was to travel to her, to and fro on same day, Sunday. Thanks to hubby, he was ready to baby sit my 5 year old for a day. But, no time was left to reserve my seat?? How, I will travel in non reserved train compartment after 10 years??? Actually let me tell you, I get really scared , even to board in reserved compartment. Reasons are many, too many crowd on stations, too many in compartment too, stir so many questions in me. Would I be able to board train, in time, with little son and the bag? Would I be able to bring my son to reserved seats comfortably? Whether both seats will be adjacent one or again I have request people to exchange? Would I be able to find space to settle my bag? Would I be able to take my son to loo in over crowded reserved compartment, if required? .. list of these questions is endless.

The list of questions was small for traveling alone in non reserved train compartment. :) As I entered the ladies compartment. Hurray! I managed to get little space to sit. Hey! this is an achievement! many passengers boarded but I was few of lucky, who got space to sit. A lady named Poonam, was guiding ladies passengers, to make their space for sitting or standing. Interesting! I was wondering, as never observed such social service before, yeah 10 years before, when I used to travel regularly on week ends, in the non reserved ladies compartment. That time I had learn skills to fight/talk to passengers already sitting comfortably, occupying more space than needed, and manage to get little space for myself, but now after 10 years, I don’t think I can use that skill. Time to brush that skill again Khushi.  Lolz!

As the train started, even some fighting scenes has started. :) I told you na.. survival of the fittest.. seat for the toughest.. lolz! That lady poonam started selling some snacks. Oh ho! so that “social service” was her marketing strategy.. cool.. this is really interesting.. After selling some snacks, she started selling hair pins, earrings, bangles, and what not.. compartment was full, many ladies were sitting on the floor, but even they got engrossed in “shopping on wheels”. Wow! Super cool indeed! the world should learn something from us. Lolz!

I enjoyed my two and half hours journey, observing old and new faces. Yes, some venders came there, whom I used to see even 10 years before, those were old faces. Return journey was equally interesting. Signal was down, the train was about to start, and passengers were still boarding down from train. OMG! I just pulled couple of them to make them come down fast, and manage to get in, on time. As expected, No space, even to stand properly. No problem Khushi! I manage to settle my foot, in space with support of one seat. Enough for me. :) In return journey I enjoyed not only fight for seat, but also a big fight between, passengers wanted to get down and passengers occupying floor near the door. I was, of course with passengers wanted to board down, with luggage and kids. Hurray! we won, losers were dragged inside the compartment from the door, with luggage. Lolz! Dunno, when we all will learn to compromise with our little comforts on our own,? :( Dunno.. when we will learn to feel happy in others’ happiness? :(

Interesting -it is getting increasingly difficult -almost impossible to travel by trains because of crowds.
