Earlier options of social networking were to join some private groups of people with same interests or sort of unions or ex-students or ex-employees alumni or clubs. Now internet has taken over. INTERNET + WORKING, simple. Interconnected Networks made INTERNET and now internet providing connection to social networks also called social media sites.

I am really confused.
